Program Participants at Monticello
In January, more than twenty state legislators brought their House or Assembly to order for the first time as the new Speaker, taking on the myriad of responsibilities, pressures, challenges and obligations associated with the position. In order to help them better prepare, the State Legislative Leaders Foundation and the National Speakers Conference invited all the new Speakers to participate in a program designed exclusively for them at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business. The program was designed to help these new leaders identify what is most important to them and their leadership as well as provide them insights and tools for how to achieve those objectives. The program featured Dr. R. Edward Freeman of Darden, Stephen G. Lakis and Dr. Thomas H. Little of SLLF, as well as current and former Speakers.
